Aṣṭāṅga Yoga
Aṣṭāṅga Yoga is one of the first styles of Yoga that came to the United States from India. It is a method of yoga that was popularized by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. Aṣṭāṅga Yoga is named after the eight limbs of yoga as mentioned in the Yoga Sutras of Patañjali. Most modern day Yoga has been drawn from this method and has been renamed or impoverished as Power or Vinyāsa Yoga. Rebecca learned this systematic type of Yoga from Amy Gordon and Christine Hoar and it is her primary yoga practice. She enjoys teaching this method in its authentic nature as private lessons.
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a slower moving style of yoga that addresses areas of the body that we may not often use in our more commonly practiced forms of Yoga that actively use the musculature of the body. Yin Yoga emphasizes a focus on using the deeper connective tissues of the body such as the ligaments, tendons, bones, and fascia. Yin Yoga allows attention to the more delicate areas of the body as a dynamic means to statically stretch the body in order to gain strength to those forgotten parts. This method of yoga primarily uses Yoga poses that are performed on the ground to create a harmony of softness and strength.
Adding Yin Yoga to your practice provides a quiet space for individuals to experience feelings of safety and support while creating sensitive sensations of stress for finding ease and release that assists in creating more balanced life.

A therapeutic approach for deeper relaxation on a cellular level of the mind, body, and spirit. This method of Yoga focuses on using up to 6 traditional Haṭha Yoga Poses that are held for a longer period of time using the support of props such as bolsters, straps, and blocks emphasizing using breathing exercises (Prāṇāyāma) and guided focused concentration (Dhāraṇā) to enable the individual to feel more rested and refreshed.

Yoga Nidrā
Yogic Sleep: A therapeutic approach where the practitioner is lying on the ground with a blanket following a set of verbal instructions becoming systematically and increasingly aware of their inner world while delving into a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping in effort to become deeply relaxed. This state of consciousness is different from meditation in which concentration on a single focus is required. In Yoga Nidrā, the practitioner remains in a state of awareness and light withdrawal of the 5 senses (pratyāhāra). Yoga Nidrā is among the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness. Regular practice of Yoga Nidrā has been found to reduce tension and anxiety. It has been used in individuals coping with trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
